Questions we're often asked

If your other providers use the same transfer service as us, the process usually takes about six weeks. This transfer service is known as Origo. It allows us to request a transfer for you.

When you apply, we’ll tell you if your other providers use this service. If they don’t, we’ll let you know that you need to ask them for a transfer form. This is also known as a manual discharge form. It’s worth noting that this manual process may take longer than six weeks.

Once we’ve received your pension transfer, you have the right to change your mind for 30 days.

If you decide to return your pension to your other provider, they may not accept it. You might have to set up a new pension with them. This may have different features and charges. You might even have to open a pension with a third provider.

If you change your mind within this 30-day period, contact us.

The information here is not the same thing as advice. Our website and Pension Helpdesk will give you guidance about pension transfers, so you can make your own decision. We won’t advise you what to do.

If you’d like more support, you can speak to an independent financial adviser. You’ll pay a fee for this advice.
