  • You don't need a large sum to start trading in the UK. It's free to open an account with us. You can invest as little as £50. Extra costs vary depending on the markets you choose to trade in and the conditions.

  • With us, there's no opening fee or dealing commission on international trades (FX rates apply) or regular investments, and it's £5 per UK or fund trade.

  • Yes, typically you pay Stamp Duty of 0.5%. Other taxes may apply, such as foreign transaction tax and the Panel of Takeovers and Mergers (PTM) levy.

    For a tax-efficient investment option, consider a Scottish Widows Stocks and Shares ISA. You’ll still need to pay Stamp Duty and the PTM levy, but you can invest up to £20,000 each tax year free from UK taxes.
