Can I change the level of cover?

This depends on which type of policy you have.

Scottish Widows Protect

Speak to your financial adviser about any changes you want to make. Some advisers may charge for advice about your level of cover.

Plan & Protect

You can’t change the level of cover but you can take out another policy. You can have multiple polices up to a total of £500,000 for life cover and £500,000 for critical illness cover.  You can do this through your banking app or on our website.

You can also apply by speaking to your mortgage adviser at your Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch.

Protection for Life

You can’t increase the level of cover provided by existing policies, but you may be able to reduce it.

My Life Insurance

You can’t change the level of cover with this policy.

Other policies

You may be able to change the level of cover if you have another type of policy you got:

  • directly from Scottish Widows
  • through Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland
  • Clerical Medical
  • your adviser.

If you’d like to discuss your policy, contact us.
