Tell us about you

To help you decide if transferring is right for you, we’d like to know a little more about you.

Can we check something?

Before you learn more about transferring your pensions online, we need to confirm that you’re:

  • Under the age of 75
  • Living in the UK
  • Moving the whole value of any pensions
  • Not taking an income from any pensions you’re transferring. You also haven’t taken a tax-free lump sum from them.
  • Moving a pension that’s with a UK provider.

Questions we're often asked

  • The details we give you here, and when you call us, are what’s known as guidance. We’ll give you information, but we won’t advise you what to do.

If you don’t feel confident to decide about pension transfers, and you want more support, you can speak to a financial adviser. They’ll normally charge you for this advice. Find out how to get a financial adviser.

If you plan to take money from your pension soon after you transfer to us, this is an important decision. You could get free and impartial guidance about your pension options from Pension Wise from Moneyhelper.

If you are intending to access your pension benefits soon after transferring, we’ll ask if you’ve had financial advice or Pension Wise guidance, or if you would like some before proceeding with your transfer.

Read our guide to find out more, including what guidance from Pension Wise entails, where you can find an adviser and when you’ll pay a fee.

  • As you move from job to job, it can be easy to lose track of your pensions. If you’d like help, you can use a pension tracing service.

The Government’s Pension Tracing Service is a great place to start your search.
