Have we asked you to send your ID?

If we haven’t been able to do our ID checks electronically, we need original or certified documents to open your account.

You’ll need to send us:

  • a document as proof of identity
  • another document as proof of address.

We can't accept expired documents.

Sending documents by email

Attach these three documents to an email and send to StockbrokingIDandV@lloydsbanking.com. Include your Personal Reference Number (PRN) in the email subject line. You can find your PRN by logging in and selecting Valuation and Statements in the right-hand menu.

The size of your email, including all attachments, must be under 20 MB.

You’ll receive an automated email response confirming receipt.

1. For proof of identity, a clear photo of one of these documents:

  • your driving license
  • passport open to the photo page, with a valid visa if applicable
  • a biometric residence permit, front and back.

2. A clear photo of you holding the document you’ve used as proof of identity. Make sure the photo:

  • shows your entire face with no obstructions, like sunglasses or a hat
  • shows your photo on your document.

3. For proof of address, a PDF or clear photo of one of these documents:

  • utility bill, dated within the last three months
  • bank statement, with nothing in the document crossed out, dated within the last three months
  • council tax bill dated within the last 12 months
  • mortgage statement dated within the last 12 months.

Please note, emails sent to Lloyds Banking Group are not secure before they reach our systems. This means they could be accessed by unauthorised persons.

You should consider the risk to your personal and confidential information before communicating this way. Think carefully about whether you’re comfortable sending documents by email.

Sending documents by post

You can also send your ID documents by post.

You’ll need to send us two documents:

These documents need to be either certified copies or originals.

If you send us original documents, we’ll return them as soon as we’ve carried out our checks. This usually takes around two days.

Send your documents to:

Scottish Widows Share Dealing
12 Wellington Place
Leeds
