There are 3 ways to get in touch. You can either give us a call, complete an online enquiry form, or contact us in writing.

Call us

Weekly peak times

Graph of weekly peak times. Monday is busiest, Tuesday to Friday are less busy.

Daily peak times

Graph of daily peak times. 10pm to 4pm are busy, with a peak around 11am.

We aim to answer most of our customers calls within 5 minutes, however during peak times this may be slightly longer. These peak times may fluctuate at certain times of the year, for example during public holidays.

  • Secured online access

    Existing online users are able to receive an instant valuation. If you are not registered, please request access.

    Whilst most pensions are available to be viewed online, those plans which contain letters or more than 8 digits in the policy number, or which were taken out before July 2000, are unable to use this service.

  • Online enquiry

    You can find out the value of your pension by completing an online enquiry. Please ensure you include:

How long will it take?

How long will it take?

Once we have all the information needed, your request to change your pension contributions can take up to 5 working days to be processed. It may take up to a further 5 working days for you to receive written confirmation.

Access my pension pot

From 55 onwards, you can choose to take some or all of your pension pot.

We give free guidance and can explain to you what you have and what choices you can make. Before making a decision we recommend that you call us on:

If you have already called us with details to set up your initial access to the money saved in your pension, you can access at any time by:

    Whilst we aim to complete the majority of requests over the phone, there may be instances where we require you to complete the transaction in writing. For example, to meet Anti Money Laundering requirements we may need documentary evidence to complete your withdrawal. If this applies, our consultant will confirm what additional information you need to provide.

    In order to process some written withdrawal requests we may need to get in touch with you for additional information. For example, to meet Anti Money Laundering requirements we may need documentary evidence to complete your withdrawal. If this applies we will get in touch to confirm what you need to provide, so please make sure to include a daytime contact number and/or email address.

How long will it take?

Once we have all the information needed, your request to access your pension can take up to 5 working days to be processed. It may take up to a further 5 working days for you to receive your payment and written confirmation.

Payments made by cheque may take up to an additional 2 working days. Please note that timescales may vary for payments to non-UK bank accounts.

Change funds

Ways to do this

    You can request a change to the fund(s) in which your pension invests by emailing IPC.Aftersales@scottishwidows.co.uk. Please ensure you include:

    • your pension plan number
    • your full name & address
    • the change of funds you would like to make
    • how you would like us to reply and your contact details (such as your email address or telephone number)
  • Call us

    To request a change the fund(s) your pension currently invests in you can speak to one of our consultants by calling 0345 716 6777. Our opening hours are: Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm. Please make sure you have your plan number to hand.

    Please note that policies are subject to a maximum number of funds that can be invested in and not all policy types allow you to change funds. When calling, our consultants will explain the options to you.
