The Scottish Widows website is designed, where possible, to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, which are produced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the web's governing body. These have been developed with the aim of providing a single international standard.

We aim to make our website compatible with assistive technology so that our content is available to everyone. This technology includes screen readers and tools that magnify the screen. For advice on individual adjustments you can make to your computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone to make it easier to use, we recommend you visit AbilityNet’s My Computer My Way website, which provides lots of useful information.

Some of our older content and tools aren’t as accessible as we’d like them to be and we’re working on this.

Accessing different format communications

We understand accessing information about financial products is not straightforward for everyone. If you have a Scottish Widows policy there are a few things we may be able to do to help you when receiving information about your policy.

If you would like to access letters and communications to you in a particular way, for example:

  • Braille
  • Large text
  • On coloured paper
  • Sent as an audio file on a CD
