Rugby Champions Programme

What is Rugby Champions?
Rugby Champions, supported by Scottish Widows Bank, is a new initiative for state secondary schools across Scotland. It will encourage more schools, teachers and volunteers to offer rugby training, run teams and play fixtures against other rugby-playing schools in the area. The aim is to increase the numbers of young people in Scotland playing or taking part in rugby, as well as helping them to stay active and healthy.
Who are the ‘Champions’?
The new rugby ‘champions’ will be teachers or volunteers who give up their own time to promote and coach rugby in schools. They will be rewarded for their efforts, with rugby kit, rugby balls and other equipment being awarded to schools as they improve and reach different levels of achievement — bronze, silver or gold.
