Investment choices

Information on the investment choices available to you can be found here. Once your pension investment option has been selected, you have the option to change your investment choice after the first contribution has been made.

Your options are:

  • Choose one of our Pension Investment Approaches based on your feelings about risk, how you currently intend to take your benefits and the way you want your money to be invested, and then let us manage this through to your retirement, or
  • Be very ‘hands on’ and select from our collection of investment funds.

Guidance to making your investment choice

  1. Read our Pensions Investment Approaches Guide and our Pension Fund Investors Guide for information on the options available.
  2. If you’re thinking about investing in one of our Pension Investment Approaches, use the Investment decision tool to find out which approach to investing is best for you.

Please contact Scottish Widows on 03457 556 557 for a paper copy of any of the above literature. The literature and materials available here will be reviewed and updated from time to time. Pensions are a long-term investment. The retirement benefits you receive from your pension plan will depend on a number of factors including the value of your plan when you decide to take your benefits which isn't guaranteed, and can go down as well as up. The value of your plan could fall below the amount(s) paid in.
