Terms and Conditions for online application
Your use of our electronic applications for products and/or services (the "Service") will be governed by these terms and
conditions together with the terms contained in our Copyright, Legal and Privacy document (the "Terms").
You should ensure that you link in to and read our Copyright, Legal and Privacy document as it includes important information
on limitations of our legal liability and general information concerning your privacy and copyright.
You should read all of the Terms carefully as you will be legally bound by them.
1. Provision of the Service by Scottish Widows
1. We hereby grant you the non-exclusive right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms and any other instruction or
direction issued to you via the Internet or otherwise. You may only use this Service if you are a resident of the United Kingdom.
2. Use of the Service
1. We shall be entitled to accept your electronic application as valid instructions without the need for any further written
confirmation, even if you can prove the electronic application was not sent by you or with your authority.
2. You must notify us immediately if you do not receive confirmation of our receipt of your electronic application within 3
business days of forwarding your electronic application. Your notice should be sent to: Scottish Widows, 15 Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh, EH16 5BU. We
shall only be obliged to act on your electronic application if you receive our written confirmation that we received your electronic application.
3. We are not obliged to accept your electronic application. Your electronic application will be dealt with by us on the same
basis as if it were made other than by electronic means.
4. If your electronic application is accepted, the products and/or services' own terms and conditions, the Contract Note, the
Key Features, your Application and any other documents specific to the particular product or service, will control the operation of the products and/or
service that you apply for in your electronic application. These Terms are additional to the aforementioned documents and relate only to the Service. In
the event of a conflict between these Terms and the aforementioned documents, these Terms shall only prevail in respect of matters specifically
concerning your use of the Service, and unless expressly provided otherwise.
3. General
1. Any reference to "you" or "your" means the person named in the electronic application and includes both applicants for any
joint application. Any reference to "we", "us" or "our" means Scottish Widows as defined herein: Scottish Widows, unless a particular Scottish Widows'
company is mentioned.
2. If you become aware of, or suspect any unlawful or unauthorised use of the Service in your name you undertake to immediately
notify us and to give us any details or assistance we may reasonably request.
3. We reserve the right to amend the Terms at any time and to notify you by posting an updated version of the Terms on this
website. Your continued use of the Service will constitute your consent to the amended Terms.
4. We reserve the right to terminate, without penalty or liability, your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any
time, with or without cause and with or without notice.
