The Widows Awards

About The Widows

Recognising success and achievement in the financial adviser community

The Widows awards were launched in 2006 at our Gala Dinner.

The Widows awards are an opportunity for the life and pensions industry to recognise success and achievement in the all-important financial adviser community.

Widows award statueEvery year we choose four prominent, experienced and well respected judges, each with a different perspective on the life and pensions industry, to decide on the winners of the awards.

The winners of the awards are presented with an Oscar sized bronze statue of the Scottish Widow.

The award categories are:

  • Lifetime Achievement Award – Given to the financial adviser who has given the most to financial services over his or her life.
  • Industry Personality of the Year – Given to the financial adviser personality who has caught the imagination of consumers and/or intermediaries with key industry issues through a presence in the media, at conferences or in their day-to-day work activities.
  • Industry Initiative of the Year – Given to the intermediary who has created a new initiative in financial services, or championed a cause, that will better the industry for consumers and/or intermediaries.
  • IFA Newcomer – Given to the financial adviser newcomer who has made the biggest impact on the financial services industry since their arrival.
