Before you use our online mortgage service, please ensure your mortgage case falls within the following:
- New Professional or Flexible applications (including existing Scottish Widows Bank customers who are not porting or applying for a further advance)
- Mortgages on a repayment basis (not interest only)
- Mortgages for up to £500,000
- Mortgages without guarantors.

Before proceeding to a full application you can submit a Decision in Principle (DIP). You can do this by downloading the DIP application form. Please send the completed DIP application form back to us by

If we receive your DIP application form before 3pm on a business day we’ll contact you with an outcome that same day. If we receive your DIP application form after 3pm, we’ll contact you the following business day.
Once you’ve received the outcome of the DIP you have the option to proceed with a full application. This can be completed by telephone or online.
Please note that a DIP will require a client credit search to be carried out.
