Individual Policy Holders (Non Corporate)

Registration Process

As a Scottish Widows policyholder you can register online to view policy details and complete basic policy administration on a wide range of existing policies.

To register for online access you will need to provide your policy number, date of birth and e-mail address via a simple form on the website:

Step 1Step 1:
Click on ‘log in or register’ on the Scottish Widows homepage.

Step 2Step 2:
Click on ‘Login or register’ on the ‘For Pensions, Corporate Pensions and Investments’ box, which will take you to a new window.

Step 3Step 3:
Click on the Register box on Login page.

Step 4Step 4:
Complete the online form and press ‘continue’. You should only input the first 7 digits of your policy number, ignoring any subsequent digits.

Once you have completed the registration process you will automatically be sent a Customer ID and PIN number in the post:

  • Letter 1: 8 digit Customer ID number (CID)
  • Letter 2: 4 digit PIN (sent 24hrs after letter 1)

When you receive your CID and PIN you should enter these on the log-in page, alongside your date of birth, to obtain access to the online system.

Log-in process

To log into your policy, follow steps 1 and 2 of the registration process, i.e.:

Step 2Step 2:
Click on ‘Login or register’ on the ‘For Pensions, Corporate Pensions and Investments’ box, which will take you to a new window.

You should then enter your Customer ID, PIN and date of birth and press ‘continue’ to access the online system.

Services available online

As a policyholder you can undertake a number of policy enquiries online, provided the policy you hold is web enabled (see the ‘Products available to view online’ link below for a list of products which can be accessed online).

Policy details
view basic details about the policy such as start and end dates.
Policy value
view current value and value at any date in the past.
Policy benefits
shows the various benefits attached to the policy e.g. waiver of premium.
Unit history
provides a breakdown of all premiums paid into the policy including fund split, allocation details and deductions.
Payment enquiry
view an up-to-date reflection of the payment status of the policy.

You can also undertake the following administration tasks online:

  • Change address
  • Change contact details
  • Change PIN
  • Change direct debit details
  • Request benefit statements
  • Enquire on valuations at the latest authorised prices (investment products only)
  • Request valuations at any dates in the past (investment products only)

Products available to view online

It is not possible to view the details of ALL Scottish Widow policies online – some older policies are not available. Policies and accounts numbers currently available to view online are in the ranges:

* The range 6500000–6899999 applies to Capital Investment Bonds only.

Why can’t I view my policy online even though it lies within the policy number ranges listed above?

If the policy is in Trust, has been assigned (e.g. to a bank for a mortgage) or has a noted interest then you will not be able to view details of that policy online. Please note it is currently only possible to access the online service at the following times:

Monday–Friday: 8am to 8pm
Saturday: 8am to 1pm
