Technical Support Officer

About the job

Direct Sales division are seeking to appoint a Technical Support Officers within Direct Sales Technical Support Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of a high calibre of technical advice and support to our Direct Sales and Financial Planning Service teams

Key Accountabilities

  • Providing generic pre sales advice on regulated products – Pensions, Investment, Protection, Inheritance Tax Mitigation in relation to the Direct Sales and Financial Planning Advisers in relation to our product range and services
  • Carry out a range of the more demanding clerical or customer service duties, ensuring that the work is competed and adheres to Scottish Widow’s processes ,procedures, standards and relevant external regulations
  • Contribute to the completion of the team workload
  • When required provide project support ensuring own deliverables are on time and to specification
  • Undertake duties at a similar or lower level as required
  • Respond to a wide range of customer enquiries ensuring that the information provided is clearly understood by the customer, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Undertake delivery of designated specialist activities in order to provide an effective service to customers in accordance with agreed service standards
  • Contribute to the design, development and specification of new/redesigned processes, systems, information , documentation and supporting materials, consulting with customers where appropriate, to ensure that their requirements are fully understood and met

What skills/experience you will need

  • Minimum FPC, ideally progression toward full AFPC
  • Financial Services Experience
  • Excellent Knowledge of the main financial planning areas including Corporate Pensions, Pension Transfers, IHT planning
