Client Services Division - Retirement Account

What is the Client Service Division?

Our Client Service division is based at our Dalkeith Road office in the east side of Edinburgh.

Who and what do we deal with?

Client Services is the main contact and administration centre for Scottish Widows Life and Pensions business. Individual Pensions is the area responsible for all aspects of the servicing of individual pension policies, including the Retirement Account. We deal with all enquiries from our clients and their financial advisors.

What is the job like?

We pride ourselves on the high level of service we provide to our customers and we fully appreciate the vital importance of getting it right, first time. In the Retirement Account area you will be part of a team who will be responsible for all aspects of the servicing of our client’s personal pensions. As we have teams dedicated to looking after particular clients and their advisors, you will be responsible along with your team mates, for ensuring the business relationship with these clients is effectively managed. This means taking personal ownership for individual applications and working together with our clients to ensure these are completed to the client’s satisfaction. We are the first point of contact for our clients and as such there will be a high level of personal contact, largely through the telephone.

What qualities do you need to have to do the job?

As we are trusted to invest client monies you will need to possess a good eye for detail, be numeric and accurate and of course have excellent organisational skills. For the role of Administrator, some knowledge of pensions would be a big advantage as it would improve your immediate understanding of the requirements of the role. Those with more experience in this area would be considered for the roles of Senior Administrator.

What training and support will you be given?

You will be given 2-4 weeks intensive classroom training (to familiarise you with our products, systems and procedures) followed by a period of “live” work during which you will be shadowed by a mentor from your team. Feedback and coaching will of course be ongoing throughout.

What can you expect to receive in return?

We offer an extensive benefits package along with your basic annual salary.

What opportunities are available within the Retirement Account area?
