PPI Pensions Policy Institute (PPI)
The PPI is an educational charity which provides non-political, independent comment and analysis on pension policy in the UK. Findings of our research are used extensively by government decision-makers and advisers, pension and savings providers, employers and trades unions, academics, commentators and the wider public.
In its short history, the PPI has established itself as an authoritative, unique voice on UK pensions. They believe that policy should be made with good, independent information and analysis.
Scottish Widows is a silver member of the Institute and continues to work with them, most recently in providing case studies for our ‘Women and Pensions Report’.

Age Concern England (Age Concern)
Age Concern actively promotes older people's interests to Government and politicians from across the political parties. Their Government and Parliamentary Affairs team work with key decision makers to promote campaigns that raise older people’s issues up the political agenda and influence Government policy.
They engage parliamentarians on a range of key issues of importance to older people; from income to transport, housing to employment.
They are considered one of the most effective campaigning charities by MPs, policy makers and opinion formers.
Scottish Widows has a very close working relationship with Age Concern. They have collaborated with the Public Affairs team at all of the major party conferences since 2005 and a further partnership programme is planned for 2008. They have attended Scottish Widows thought leadership events at Port Hamilton and provided views on current research with particular reference to pensions.
Policy Exchange
Policy Exchange is an independent think tank whose mission is to develop and promote new policy ideas which will foster a free society based on strong communities, personal freedom, limited government, national self-confidence and an enterprise culture. In 2006 Scottish Widows sponsored an event with Philip Hammond MP, conservative Shadow Work & Pensions Secretary.
Policy Exchange is committed to an evidence-based approach to policy development. We work in partnership with academics and other experts and commission major studies involving thorough empirical research of alternative policy outcomes. We believe that the policy experience of other countries offers important lessons for government in the UK. We also believe that government has much to learn from business and the voluntary sector.
