Public Affairs

Anthony joined the public affairs team in December 2007 and is responsible for driving forward Scottish Widows’ government relations and thought leadership programmes in Whitehall and Westminster.

Before joining Scottish Widows, Anthony spent 7 years working for the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) in a variety of roles, which included leading the pensions policy team and running the CBI’s parliamentary affairs unit, before heading up all European lobbying activity as Director of the CBI Brussels office.

Anthony graduated from Birmingham University with a BA in Russian in 1999 and was awarded an MSc in Social Policy & Planning from the London School of Economics in 2003.

Anthony is married with one daughter – and spends any spare time he has reading political biographies or following Newcastle United.

Andy joined the public affairs team at Scottish Widows in 2004, and works on delivering the Scottish Widows research reports which have formed a core part of our political engagement strategy. He also manages the company relationship with our trade body, the ABI.

Before joining the public affairs team Andy has worked in a number of roles at Scottish Widows including project management and strategy planning and monitoring. Andy graduated from Manchester University with a BA in Politics and Modern History and an MA in Political Science.

Andy is married with one daughter – and now is happy to take part in fewer triathlons than before he became a father.

Judith joined the public affairs team in March 2010, having worked in the Scottish Widows press office since December 2008. Before joining Scottish Widows, Judith worked as the Communications Officer for UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP. Prior to this, Judith was an Account Manager at Grayling Political Strategy managing the corporate communication programmes for a number of high profile clients. She graduated from University College Dublin with an MSc in European Economics and from Leeds University with a BA in Politics.
